Bowling Pin DerbyYou won't strike out with this fun indoor bowling game. Create a kid-friendly bowling alley with all the fun of bowling without the rental shoes. Click here to download a bowling score sheet WHAT YOU NEED:Modeling clay HOW TO PLAY:1. First, make the bowling pins. To make each pin (for the derby below), stick a small lump of modeling clay (about 1 inch thick) to the inner bottom of a disposable plastic cup. 2. Invert a second cup and set it atop the first. Then tape together the rims with colored duct tape. 3. Set up the pins in triangular formation. Make a row of four pins and then make a row of three pins in front of the first row of four. Then make a row of two in front of the row of three. Finally place the head pin in front of the row of two. 4. Each player gets three consecutive rolls of a ball to knock down as many pins as possible. If all the pins fall before the third roll, reset them and continue. You get one point for each fallen pin. The person who knocks down the most pins wins. Rootbeer BowlingAnother bowling option can used either indoor or outdoor. It helps when setting up pins if they are placed in the same locations. If outdoors, use chalk to mark an "X" where the pins should go. 2. If playing indoor, use a rope to mark the lanes. If playing outdoors, use a rope or cones to mark the lanes. (Note: the lanes are not to keep the ball in the lane, but only for visual effects. It looks more like bowling if you have some kind of lane borders. 3. Use either 10 full un-opened 2 liter soda bottles as pins or fill empty bottles with colored water. 4. Roll a basket ball to knock down the pins. (You can use any heavier ball or even a bicycle tire.) If you only have a kick ball or volley ball, then use empty bottles and only fill them with enough water to make them work. 5. Use a bowling score sheet to make the game more fun! |
