What Is PowerPlant?

PowerPlant is a ministry of the North American Mission Board designed to engage students in church planting and evangelism. The first PowerPlant project was in 2003, and it has been growing since then. PowerPlant participants will learn church planting principles and evangelism skills each morning, then have a chance to engage personally through assigned ministry team activities in the afternoon and evening. Students and adults will begin to see that the church is not about buildings . . . it's about people! And there are lots of people in North America who need Christ!

The Salt Lake Baptist Association & South Valley Baptist Church is sponsoring a unique opportunity for teens to get hands-on experience in church planting activities. This 7 day mission opportunity is open to teens going into the 11th grade and up.

Detail Summary:

Dates: June 14-20, 2008
Ages: 11th grade through college
Costs: $300 to particiate (plus spending money & 5 meals)
Lodging: We will be staying a public school with other PowerPlant teams from around the country. Each person will need to bring a bedroll (and air mattress)
Meals: All but 5 meals will be provided by PowerPlant.
Transportation: We will be driving from SLC to Denver in personal autos. (Please let us know if you are a sponsor and are willing to drive your own vehicle.)

Sunday

7:30 AM - Breakfast /Personal Devotions
8:00 - Group Leaders Meeting
8:30 - Good Morning PowerPlant
9:00 - Depart for worship at assigned churches
Lunch (off campus)
2:00 PM - Ministry Site orientation/Prayer Walk/Team Time Travel back
4:00 - Training Sessions
6:00 - Dinner
7:00 - The Gathering
8:45 - Church Group Devos
10:30 - In Rooms
11:00 - Lights Out

Monday-Thursday

7:30 AM - Breakfast/Devos
8:30 - Ministry Team Time
9:00 - Good AM P2 (CP Highlights in the AM)
9:30 - CP Training
10:15 - Depart
11:30 - Lunch on campus
Noon - Ministry Assignment (dinner off campus)
8:45 PM - Gathering (praise and worship, devotion intro)
